Virtual World Experience I

Hey guys,
My first post is about an entrance to Virtual World which is called Second Life.
When I heard about this task first, it reminded me the series Black Mirror S4 Episode Striking Vipers and Kiss Me First. You can see them if you wonder about these kinds of subjects! While I was watching that episode, I was curious about how people feel about playing those games. The first thing that caught my attention was the name of Second Life because it gave an undertaking another life besides real life. Then, I created my account and tried to figure out how to play it which was hard for me. The game has some problems with the form of it and I think it needs to be more advanced. Second Life is a peculiar experience in comparison with Sims, you can feel this as you enter. It feels downtoearth and freedom which causes a feeling that you can become a person you want to be. The way of characters' look is amazingly close to real but I do not know if I like this. What I realized is that there are no boundaries at Second Life app, it means you can be cruel or compassionate as much as you want. Human beings are insatiable creatures, they always want more and this app can give them what they do not have in real. It can negatively affect defenseless, weak people. There can be quick emotional changings and personal differences. If you do not abandon yourself as using it, this Virtual World can entertain you. Also, people talk with their other characteristics in the Second Life app which causes questioning the psychological side of it. What I think is Second Life contains many people who controlled by their personas'.

There is a quote about this said by Carl Jung,

"I have frequently seen people become neurotic when they content themselves with inadequate or wrong answers to the questions of life. They seek position, marriage, reputation, outward success of money, and remain unhappy and neurotic even when they have attained what they were seeking. Such people are usually confined within too narrow a spiritual horizon. Their life has not sufficient content, sufficient meaning. If they are enabled to develop into more spacious personalities, the neurosis generally disappears."

According to my first experience, opinions and how I feel, Virtual World games and their effects are debatable, Second Life gives people chance for developing other personalities and less connection to real life and what we have normally.
